01What we do
Arcabelle reviews online games for players and families in Canada. We only write about games we have played through, and every review gives a typical sitting, the save point to stop at, who can talk to you, what it sells once you are playing, comfort notes and who it suits.
02Why a controller?
Every game already has a button that pauses it, and most have a moment where it is easy to stop. Our home page maps each review to a button to keep that idea in front of you: every game has a save point, and the review tells you where it is.
03Who writes the reviews
A small team of long-time players, from co-op puzzles and party games to story games and fighters, together with parents who set up the family settings on every platform we mention.
04How the site is paid for
Not by anyone in the games business. There are no adverts, affiliate links, sponsored reviews or products for sale. We host no games, run no accounts and take no payments.
05Conflicts of interest
If a reviewer has a personal or professional link to a game or studio, someone else reviews it and the review says so. We accept no gifts, trips or early access in exchange for coverage.
06The artwork
Every banner is an original illustration made for Arcabelle in that game’s own visual style: pixel art for one, hand-drawn ink for another, flat folk-art colour for a third. None of it is official artwork, a screenshot or a real person. The controller on the home page is a generic drawing, and our emblem is our own.
07Why Canadian English?
Because our readers are in Canada: local spelling, ESRB ratings and local support services. No pop-ups, no autoplaying video or sound and no tracking.
08Corrections
